The Sports Nutrition Consultation Process & Personalised Packages
Step 1 - FREE 20-minute Discovery Call
The first step of the consultation process is for you to schedule a FREE 20-minute discovery phone call with me.
During this call, I will ask you about your health and fitness goals, as well as any health concerns you may have, and I will let you know if your requirements are within my scope of practice. I will also answer any questions you may have, in relation to how I work, to enable you to determine whether my clinic would be a suitable choice for you. If you decide to go ahead, you can then schedule your first consultation date.
** Please note that I cannot provide any professional recommendations during this call, as it takes place prior to any nutritional and lifestyle assessment.
Step 2 - The Initial Consultation (60 minutes)
Prior to our first consultation, I will ask you to complete a detailed health and fitness questionnaire and a 5-day food diary and return them to me, along with details of your typical weekly training schedule and copies of any recent medical test results that you may have had carried out.
This enables me to fully prepare for our first consultation in advance and identify the key area to concentrate on.
The first consultation will generally cover the following areas:
A detailed discussion covering your health history, lifestyle and your current dietary and fueling choices in relation to to your training schedule and performance goals.
My personalized nutritional and lifestyle change recommendations including personalised strategies (i.e. nutrient timing, hydration planning etc) tailored to your specific training schedule and performance goals; whilst taking into account your personal lifestyle and food restrictions/preferences and the latest sports nutrition research.
I may also recommend some additional biochemical or functional tests, and targeted supplements to help further improve your performance and overall health, if necessary or potentially beneficial.
Within 48 hours, you will receive a bespoke health action plan document, including all my personalised recommendations for your diet and lifestyle.
Step 3 - Follow-up Consulations (45 minutes)
Most clients require at least 2-3 follow-up consultations to check on their progress. However, some clients require more long-term support i.e. due to changing training schedules or to allow sufficient time to appropriately address an underlying health concern/concern.
During this time we will typically:
Check on your progress since our last consultation and agree on a revised dietary and lifestyle action plan for you to follow, moving forward.
I will explain the results of any diagnostic tests that you may have done since our initial consultation and provide my recommended actions based on these results.
